Course Description:
Continued exploration of relief printing techniques. Emphasis is on the creative
use of the medium in the development of a personal expression.

Begin the semester with this thought:
“ For me, the art pieces are the remembrance of an instant of time, a place,
circumstances of creation, of a partial glimpse of the whole picture told in parts,
like seeing a bird in flight through dense trees because you happen to look up. By
having an open-ended process and attitude, I have set myself up so that I will be
lucky enough to actually catch that view.”
- Karen Kunc
We are often hesitant to take chances, to try the unfamiliar. Over the course of the semester –
and beyond – set yourself up to catch the view.

“A shape, like a word, has innumerable associations that vibrate in the memory and any
attempt to explain it by a single analogy is as futile as the translation of a poem. “
