Alpha Epsilon Delta Prehealth Honor Society (AED)
AED is an honor society that seeks to stimulate an appreciation of the importance of premedical education,
promote communication between medical and premedical students and educators, provide a forum for students
with common interests, and support charities and the community.

The Boulder chapter of the nationwide MAPS network features regular guest speakers on a variety of healthrelated topics and healthcare fields. This group is for people who either identify as members of minority groups
or who have an interest in providing healthcare to the medically underserved.

The Neuroscience club is for students interested in discussing research or sharing information on Neuroscience.

Pre-SOMA (Student Osteopathic Medical Association)
Pre-SOMA is the undergraduate division of the Student Osteopathic Medical Association. Our goal is to
promote and inform the public about osteopathic medicine and to increase the number of applicants to
osteopathic medical schools. Pre-SOMA is the student affiliate of the American Osteopathic Association.

Student Academic Success Center (SASC) Pre-Health Program
The Student Academic Success Center is a multi-cultural academic learning community that provides low
income and first generation college students with academic skills development, math and writing courses,
supplementary instruction in gateway courses, tutoring, and research opportunities. Their pre-health program
provides support and camaraderie for pre-health students.

Health-Related Service Groups with CU Boulder Chapters
Global Dental Brigades
Global Dental Brigades is a group of college students who travel to rural communities in a country in Central or
South America during spring break each year to set up mobile clinics, provide prophylactic cleaning and
fluoride treatments, and assist with extractions, all under the oversight of certified dentists. Participants can also
gain public speaking experience by providing educational workshops on topics pertaining to oral health.

SEMS trains students to become instructors of American Heart Association CPR/AED, First Aid, and Basic

An organization that encourages students to strengthen community-based health and education initiatives. We
strive to create sustainable healthcare during international medical service trips and empower volunteers to take

University of Colorado Emergency Medical Services (CU-EMS)
CU-EMS aims to develop and promote a safer student experience and positive community interactions. We
coordinate a team of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) who are available to provide on-site medical
evaluation and Basic Life Support services at events. We also aim to provide and promote quality education and
experiences for our members to advance them in the field of emergency medicine.
