Call to Order
The regular meeting of the Student Council for Clover Park Technical College was called to order at
3:05 pm on November 16, 2015 in Bldg 23 Room 209 by Vice President Nathan Pickens.

Met with Peer Ambassadors to gather information about what we can commit to
and move forward with the Student Priorities Paper: Action Agenda

Assisted with Laser Tag event on 11/13/2015
The Hiring Committee will meet on Tuesday November 17th and Wednesday
November 18th for interviews and deliberations. There are currently 10 interviews
scheduled.
The Student Priorities Video Team met today for the first time, which includes
Kelson Williams, Erica Sherwood and Lynea Butcher. The team will generate a list of
questions to get feedback from students on the Student Priorities Paper.
Spoke to Cindy Overton to find out what the first step with creating a course on
Canvas. I would need to create a name for this course and send it to her. She will
then create said course and later on in the week, will show me how to edit
information on that course. A project memo was also created, identifying the title,
purpose, objectives, partners and timeline.

The final Keeping Connected meeting of the quarter will be in building 3, rotunda on
Tuesday November 17th at 3:00 pm. Student Council will be represented at that
meeting by Nathan Pickens.
The Security department has moved to building 12
The roof at the South Hill Campus has been leaking for some time, and has recently
been repaired.
Open registration began last Thursday.
We had 120 attendees at our last Leadership Luncheon with John Wiesman.
Free coffee will be offered by the Bookstore on Mondays and from Tuesdays to
Fridays by the SLSC staff until we can get a coffee vendor for the College.

a) Action Item (15-015) Approval to re-sanction Phi Theta Kappa (Cheryl Walters)

Phi Theta Kappa was represented by Cheryl Walters (Secretary)
What is the Purpose of your club? – To recognize scholar students in two year colleges on
the hallmarks of Leadership, Fellowship, Scholarship and Service.
How do you serve the campus community? – Through the College Project which is the Food
Pantry.
What are some highlights of the club? – Community service projects like volunteering to
help those in need, attending the recent Fall Fest and collecting about 50 lbs. of food.
Brief history of the club –It is the Beta Omicron Gamma chapter and each officer position is
based on the four Hallmarks.

How do you serve the campus community? – By trying to participate in events and bring
awareness to certain conditions like blood pressure awareness.
What are some highlights of the club? – Outstanding assistance with working together with
other clubs on campus.
Brief history of your club – Not sure of history.

 Last campaign was very successful. Students were encouraged to activate their SALT
account, student email, and show their new ID cards, and when successful were
given USB drive.
Committee goals: Bus Transportation Committee (Ashley Duncan)
 Check with other colleges about what other transportation support services they
provide for their students. Each member is assigned a particular College to contact.
 Would like to illuminate the bus stops serving the campus mainly on Steilacoom
Boulevard
 Create a carpool board with guidelines to be accessible to students.
