ABOUT THE ACADEMIE MUSIQUE The Academie Musique, the music preparatory program at Temple College seeks to provide high-quality, reasonably priced music, art, and dance programs for children from the surrounding communities. This program also serves as a laboratory setting providing Temple College students with skills and training necessary to become qualified music teachers. Lessons with these students who are mentored by Temple College faculty are available at a reduced fee. PRIVATE & CLASS MUSICAL INSTRUCTION for ages 4 – 80 Drum Set: Many styles, emphasis on jazz Guitar: Classical And Bass Piano: Classical, Jazz, Class Piano/Music Theory String Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, String Bass Voice: Ages 12 and up; Adult Class Voice Winds/Brass: Flute, Saxophone, Lower Brass, Trumpet Additionally, the Central Texas Jazz Society provides a limited number of fall semester jazz lesson scholarships to qualified instrumental students in grades 7 – 12. These students will study with members of the Temple Jazz Orchestra. Students are to contact their school band director for applications which are also available on this website.
