TC duo finishes sixth at national tournament
Memphis, Tenn. - The Temple Daily Telegram reports that the TC doubles team of Kathleen White and
Esther Delgado finished in sixth place at the Rolex National Small College Tennis Championships. In
Friday's consolation final, the second-seeded team of Donata Majauskaite and Allison Tweedy from
Cowley County (Kan.) defeated White and Delgado, 6-2, 7-5 at the Racquet Club of Memphis. Delgado
and White who had been teamed for the first time ever at the Regional tournament in Plano the week before
and came from out of nowhere to win that tournament, earned an invitation to the Memphis National where
they finished with a 1-2 record. "We got off to a slow start and came back to play a strong second set,"
TC coach Dick King said. "We just gave up too much too early".
