City, county officials seek extension of Highway 130 AUSTIN — The Temple Telegram reported that Temple officials Tuesday urged the Texas Turnpike Authority (TTA) to consider extension of State Highway 130 north to Temple to relieve traffic congestion along Interstate 35 and help meet increasing population and economic growth in Bell County. The authority is considering construction of Highway 130 from Interstate 10 at Seguin north to State Highway 195 in Georgetown. Mayor Keifer Marshall Jr., said continuation of the proposed toll road north to Hillsboro, passing through the east side of Temple, would be “vitally important” as a reliever route for I35 all along the I-35 corridor.
