Dear Colleagues, The CIS computer loaner program is booming. We loaned out all the computers we had ready to go last week and had to shut down the operation for several days until more could be made ready for students. There seem to be more and more students every semester who do not have access to a computer and we are happy to help those in that situation. We are, however, experiencing some difficulties this semester that we have not witnessed in the past and I would like to enlist your help. We have set up room 549 in the Watson Technical Building as our loaner office. It houses the computer systems and, at the present time, the student aids that are sending the computers out the door. (Joe Pischner will also be there starting in October.) Most of the students being sent to get loaners have been very gracious and appreciative. Others have been rude and demanding. This program is a service to the students of TC that the CIS department is very proud of. When referring, please remind students that borrowing a computer (desktop, we do not have laptops) is a privilege, not a right, and that we can refuse service if behavior warrants. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. Talma Botts
