Description of Business Environment:

This position is responsible for supporting a multi phased programme to train commercial nuclear operators and technicians for a new generation of Nuclear Power stations. The programme will adopt a systematic approach to training and will include the following disciplines / roles; Human Performance Engineering, Curriculum

Development, development and use of Advanced Simulation Products / Training Aids,

Courseware development, Training and Education delivery and Trainee management.

Specific Job Description:

The selected candidate will join the Global Training Services team as a training lead, contributing to the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of turnkey training solutions in the commercial nuclear energy training domain. The successful candidate will provide leadership across this training domain to include customer interface, change board participation, adherence to technical process and application of human performance engineering for a series of complex systems and products. The selected candidate will contribute in a leadership role responsible for derive and design training solutions to effectively train nuclear power plant Operators and Technicians.

The candidate will be responsible for leading the Designs and delivery of programs to train all levels of personnel. Develop tests and visual aids, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Develop programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. Candidate may evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs.

Required Skills :

A Masters or PhD degree in Instructional Systems, Training, Human Performance or a related discipline. A working knowledge of the nuclear industry regulatory scheme and recognized industry standards. Nuclear industry qualification(s) in operations, maintenance, radiation protection/control and/or nuclear chemistry. In-plant nuclear experience in the commercial or defense nuclear propulsion domains. Experience in

working in domestic and international nuclear energy domains. Experience in designing training solutions that include affective domain training.

Previous experience in designing training solutions in the nuclear energy domain is highly desirable. Professional experience supporting the Systematic Approach to

Training (SAT) process in developing holistic training solution design architectures in accordance with challenging defence or commercial requirements. Proven leadership experience with demonstrated accomplishments and career growth in areas of complex, high stakes/high consequence and mission critical types of training. Adapt in working with technical subject matter.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

Typical Minimum Education & Experience :

Ideally require a Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically achieved through proven professional experience. Will also consider individuals with equivalent experience / combined education.
