Description of Business Environment:
The CP Transformation lead will be responsible for the large scale data centre
consolidation activity, covering the establishment of new, highly virtualised data centres,
migrating workloads and decommissioning extant systems.
The responsibilities include the overall planning and management of the data centre
consolidation activities, including:
Planning and Coordinating with a diverse stakeholder group including
executivesManaging large teams of subcontractors and LM employees. Developing
technical and management strategies and solutionsManaging budget and schedule,
ensuring performing teams are executing to planManagement of Risk and Opportunities
Specific Job Description:
Perform the following functions as individual assignments or as part of a team:
 Responsible for leading and managing the implementation of a large scale data
centre consolidation program.
 Responsible for managing the development, installation and accreditation of 15 new
data centres and associated infrastructure.
 Responsible for managing the migration of workloads from extant defence systems
(spread across over 150 regional sites) into the new consolidated data centres.
 Responsible for application migration of 200 applications into the transformed
environment
 Responsible to stand up ITIL Service Management processes and governance for
client
 Responsible for the decommissioning and disposal of assets from regional sites.
 Ensure the aggressive schedule of transformation activities is complete on time with
minimal disruption to Defence
 Ensure strong communication with Defence on transformation program status and
progress, and to ensure dependencies on Defence and Other IT Contractors are
closely monitored and managed.










Lead and manage multiple teams of LM employees and subcontractors
Manage assigned budgets to ensure achievement of program financial objectives.
Manage transformation risks and opportunities to ensure schedule and cost impacts
are minimised.
Anticipate, identify and resolving complex program level risks and action items.
Ensure a coherent system level technical approach to meet customer requirements,
including the preparation for, and conduct of Mandated System Reviews to be
conducted with the customer.
Participate in technical and program reviews at varying levels with LMA and LM
Management, customers and subcontractors.
Represent LMA in working level governance forums for the program
Manage and coordinate the customer engagement team to establish open lines of
communication with Defence customers and users to ensure minimal disruption and
maximum customer satisfaction.
Identify, build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders at all
levels of the enterprise.
Execution of Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives
Required Skills:
Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active
approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop
relationships to achieve Lockheed Martin’s objectives.
 Significant experience working in the Defence IT industry, and solid understanding of
Defence IT Security practises
 Experience leading large scale Enterprise Data Centre consolidation or
transformation programs
 Extensive experience working on IT transformation programs
 Significant experience in IT Program Management, including the management of
large teams in an IPT environment
 Significant experience in Service Delivery Management/Information Technology
Management
 Direct hands on experience running complex Defence IT programs
 Significant experience in employee supervision and performance management
 Delivery of strategic programs
 This position will be based in Australia but open to UK nationals who have SC
Standard Job Description:
Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for
coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance
assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or
subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract
changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work
statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of
contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program
review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research,
development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line
with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and
schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of
resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees
assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
Typical Minimum Education & Experience:
Ideally require Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically
achieved through extensive professional experience. Will also consider individuals with
equivalent experience / combined education.
Considered the most senior authority in the discipline.
