Common
Core, essential standards
are on report card but there are
many more that students need to
learn.
Standards are END of the year but
graded on benchmarks.
All work is checked for completeness
but may not have a grade.
Homework
Generally 30-40min. per night
Additional 20min. of reading NIGHTLY
Homework is Friday to Friday
Study multiplication facts nightly
Incomplete class work may become homework
Book reports and special projects will be
assigned throughout the year
Cursive needs to be practiced at home

Math Homework
Mind Set…I don’t have it YET!
Students will be asked to use
thinking and problem solving skills
though strategies.
However, fact fluency is also
important. Mastery of addition,
subtraction, and multiplication facts
are expected by the end of the year.

Must study at home,
in addition to other

Standard is to have memorized facts 0-10
End of Trimester 1 should master 1-5
End of Trimester 2 should master 6-10

so students can prepare for the test
