Social Media Release
A big hello to our first time drama families and a welcome back to our returning artists, it is going to be a great theatrical arts
season. There will be many opportunities for your child to perform and be in the spotlight this year. Whether on stage or behind the
scenes, your child will be part of our spectacular program and exciting season, so to ensure clear communication we are asking for
permission to enroll your teen in our social media accounts. The drama department has a free account with Remind, an AP which
allows me to send a text message or email directly to you and your child's phone. This will notify the members for tests, rehearsals,
club events, and homework due dates. Clear communication is essential in the arts program, as our time line is different than the
daily core classes.
The production calendars will be posted on line for your review, however with the many activities on campus, sometimes rehearsals
need to be moved or cancelled. My goal is to make it a wonderful learning experience for your child, and keep the families informed
regarding their children's activities.
Our talented student leadership team has put together many resources for promoting the arts and our season. We have established
a Facebook page,Instagram account, and an interactive website for all to enjoy. We will be asking our students to be part of each
social media resource.
The students will be instructed in class how to activate their free membership. If you do not wish for them to be part of the free
REMIND resource please mark the box below and return this form to Mrs. Wheaton on Monday August 17, 2015. I have included
the instructions for each team, so parents can join the membership and be notified of activities, tests, and rehearsals. Please use the
code connected to the student's theater arts period. Note: if your cell phone plan is unlimited texting this account is free. If you
have limited texting you may be charged a fee if your account goes over.

Step one: Take your phone and create a new message for texting
Step two: On the phone type the number- (509)350-8785
Step three: In the message box type: Your code from below
Step Four: press send.
You will receive a return message asking for your full name. This is posted in the account, so I can see who is a member for each of
my drama courses. This helps me know who is being notified and who is not. Type EXACTLY as you see it below. There are no
mistakes. Parents if you sign up on the account please begin your name with a capitol P, then space and type your name. This will
mark you as parent on my class folders.
