Goal Area 8: Global Perspectives Develop a comparative perspective and understanding of one’s place in a global context. The course asks students to study the effects of U.S. policies on a minority ethnic group of the Americas not only in the United States but in the ethnic group's country of heritage. The course asks the students to study the effects in the country of heritage itself. 13. In order for a course to be designated as fulfilling Goal Area 8, it must address at least 4 of the 5 student learning outcomes (SLOs) below.
