Master of Science—English: Teacher Education Mission Statement: The M.S. in English aims to provide practicing licensed teachers with continuing learning opportunities and professional growth in the areas of literature, writing, pedagogy, and research to enhance their career development. Student Learning Outcomes: 1. Students analyze discourse from a variety of theoretical perspectives. 2. Students create, analyze, and respond to various rhetorical situations. 3. Students integrate critical, theoretical, and pedagogical knowledge to improve their own learning, as well as their students’. 4. Students conduct a culminating scholarly project, be it a thesis or collection of starred papers, appropriate for an academic audience.
