Midwest Clinic Teachers’ Conference September 12, 13, 14, 2014 MSU College of Law Conference Evaluation Please comment on the following topics to help those who will plan the Midwest Conference in the future. Feel free to use the back of the form if you need more room to write. 1. Schedule: The pre-conference workshops were on Friday afternoon and the conference was scheduled for all day on Saturday and Sunday morning only. What schedule do you recommend? 2. Pacing: Two sessions were planned for each morning and each afternoon with a break between session and a one hour lunch with no speakers scheduled during meals. Please comment on this pace. 3. Theme and programming: This conference had no over-arching theme. Are there programs or themes that you would suggest? 4. Solicitation of presentations: The solicitation for presentations went out in the spring so that people had time to prepare over the summer. Was this effective timing or too early? 5. Works in progress: No time was provided for people to discuss works in progress. Should time be provided? If so, when? 6. Areas of practice: How important is an opportunity to be in a small group with others who work in your field? 7. Format of presentations: There were a variety of formats including plenaries with a series of speakers, interactive workshops, small group discussions etc.? What worked well and what might be improved? 8. Printed Materials: You were provided paper copies of a Protocol, schedule, description of the sessions, a list of participants, and biographies of all presenters and planners. Should these have been printed or only made available electronically? 9. Publicity: All of the publicity and announcements were made via the clinic listserve. Please comment on whether there are other forms of publicity, and the number and frequency of announcements. 10. Website: The registration, hotels, transportation, conference materials, parking, local attractions etc. were all on the conference website. Please comment on which of these were useful and suggestions for additions to future conference websites. 11. Food and entertainment: Please comment on the food and entertainment. If you were in an urban setting, what meals and entertainment would you like provided? If in a college town? 12. What else would you want future planning committees to know? 13.
