Subject: Unequal tax treatment
Dear Panel,
I'd like to know why, as a Gay American, I am treated differently from
my
straight neighbors?
Special tax breaks and privileges are granted to
those
who are given the opportunity to marry. Since I am gay, I am not given
that same opportunity. Therefore, I am treated differently simply
because of how
I was born.
The Federal Government gives me two options.....#1. I could simply
marry a woman for tax purposes OR #2. I can simply accept that I'm
treated unequally in our society and not given the same special tax
breaks that straight
Americans are given.
I find neither acceptable or American.
Sincerely,
Ron Ausemus
