Program Outcomes Bachelor of Science in Computer Science: Secondary Teaching Upon completion of a bachelor of science degree in computer science / secondary teaching from Lake Superior State University, students will be able to: 1. Apply the content knowledge needed to teach computer science at the secondary education level. 2. Design and develop software tools including operating systems, utilities, and communication software. 3. Design and implement a database system. 4. Develop software interfaces and computer graphics packages. 5. Use the appropriate methods in teaching computer science at the secondary education level. 6. Successfully pass the required state certification exam. 7. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer systems and networks at the school at which they work. 8. Integrate material established by the guidelines for computer science education of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). 9. Use their acquired skills in the pursuit of a job and/or graduate school. 10. Continue to acquire new knowledge for life-long learning in pursuit of their professional and personal goals.
