Here is a checklist to help you get started. I will use this checklist to help me determine your

Student Instructions for Biome Web Page
Setting Up Your File:
 Create a folder in your file.
 Name the folder. Example names, tundra, temperate, boreal, lakes.
 Create another folder inside the folder you just named.
 Name this folder "images".
Creating Pages:
 Type your information making sure that you include a "Bibliography" section where you
give credit to the sources you used.
 Add text, pictures, and clip art to your page.
 Change the background color or pattern, if desired.
 Create links to 2 web sites that you find with information about your biome. Create
links from the top of your page to major sections of your page.
Saving Your Work:
 Pull down under the File menu to Save As.
 Enter a title for your page. (The title will appear at the top of your page's window.)
Example titles: Temperate, Tropical, Boreal, etc.
 Type the filename for your page. The file name can contain no symbols or spaces or
capital letters. Example filenames: temperate, tropical, boreal, etc.
 Save often!
Proofing Your Pages:
 Edit your text: Check spelling, grammar, and wording.
 View your page in both the preview page mode.
 Test your links.
Evaluating Your Work:
 Ask another pair of students to view and give you feedback about your web site. Make
changes if necessary.
 Complete the content checklist.
 Ask your teacher to view and evaluate your web site.
