Week of March 28, 2016 Parent Information: What are we learning this week? Math: We will be composing and decomposing larger numbers and we will continue to practice “Fast Nines” and also work on composing and decomposing larger numbers. Reading/Writing: Students should bring home their guided reading baggie and sight word baggie each night for practice and they need to bring them back to school each day. IB/Social Studies/Science: We are working on our How the World Works planner and will begin learning about light and sound energy. 1. Happy Easter! 2. We will be working hard between now and the end of school to learn everything we need to know to be ready to be awesome second graders! 3. If your child is still working on sight words, please make sure they practice at home and have their sight words with them every day. 4. When your child is writing at home, please check to make sure they are beginning sentences with capital letters, using complete sentences, and using punctuation at the end. 5. Anytime you can, riding in the car, during commercials, etc., please ask you child to count to 120 by 10s or by 5s. If they master that, try 2s. 6.
