Lesson Name: Local Government Using a Word Table
TEKS: 3.9B
Technology TEKS: 1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 3A, 7A, 7B, 10A, 11A, and 11B
Objective: The student will create a table in Microsoft Word to show local government
jobs and their duties (policeman, fireman, parks/recreation, education, garbage pickup,
etc…).
Creating a Table in Microsoft Word:
 Open Microsoft Word.
 Go to the menu bar and select Table- Insert-Table.
 A box will appear for you to add the desired number of columns and rows.
 Click Ok.
 Your table will automatically be inserted.
 Students will type in the information for each row and column.

Fireman

Duties
A teacher helps students

They can also be your
friend.
