Using these mats along with manipulatives, they will show whether to combine, separate or compare. Making the Mats: See below After completing the mats, students use manipulatives to demonstrate problems which combine, separate or compare. See examples below of separate and combine. Students will create and print as a full sheet in order to place manipulatives on the mat. 36 Making Math Mats in Inspiration Using Drawing Tools Making Math Mats in Inspiration Using Drawing Tools Click on the drop down arrow for drawing shapes. Click and drag to make a chosen shape. To move the shape, click with mouse pointer on edge of shape. To resize, click and drag on any one of the handles. To add arrows, choose Process in the symbol palette. Click and drag to form the arrow. Recolor by choosing Effect, Fill Color. 30 To dekete a shape, select it and click the delete key.
