PARTURITION

In this activity, the teacher will first show a video clip of all four of the main agriculture
production species (beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, and swine) giving birth. As the video
plays the teacher will stop it when something important happens and will point it out to
the students. For example, the teacher would stop the video when the water sack first
appears, or when it breaks or when the farmer is assisting the parturition. The teacher
would then explain what is happening and why it is important. While the teacher is going
through the video, the students will be filling out the attached worksheet.
