MLA Citation Examples:
In-Text Citation: (Last Name of Author Page Number)
Example: This type of honey is produced in Texas (Smith 29).
Book Citation:
Last name, First name. Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher, Year of
Publication. Medium of Publication.
Example:
Legg, Gerald. Bears. New York: Franklin Watts, 2002. Print.
Database Citation:
Last name, First name. “Name of Article.” Name of Journal/Magazine. Day Month Year of
publication: pages. Name of Database. Web. Day Month Year of access.
Example:
Lakdawalla, Emily. “Pluto and the Kuiper Belt.” Sky & Telescope. Feb. 2014: 18-25. Academic
Search Complete. Web. 7 May 2014.
Webpage Citation:
Editor, author, or compiler name (if available). “Page Name.” Name of Site. Name of
institution/organization affiliated with the site (sponsor or publisher), date of resource
creation (if available). Web. Date of access.
Note: If there is no date on the resource, put n.d. for “no date.”
Example:
Kramer, Miriam. “Valentine’s Day Full Moon Rises Friday for Snowy Sweethearts.”
Space.com. TechMedia Network, 13 Feb. 2014. Web. 7 May 2014.
Image Citation:
Photographer’s Name. Name of Image. Photograph. Website Name. Name of

institution/organization affiliated with the site, date of resource creation (if available),
Web. Date you found the image.
Example:

The BEST way to do a google image search:
Put: Advanced Google Image Search in the search bar.
Make sure you choose Free to use, share or modify in the usage rights
menu. Under Safe Search, chose “filter explicit results.”
