Scope and Content
The Carr Collection contains letters from a soldier, Jas Le Barnes, to his wife Bonie,
as well as to his friends and family, which describe life as a soldier. There are also
letters from various members of the Barnes family to those of the Carr family and
vice versa describing family life in the Delta. The letters span from the 1850’s to the
1950’s.
