Introductions

– All members introduced themselves and said how they were involved and information about their son/daughter.

Treasurer’s Report: See the report. New members - $250. Nothing on hand, no withdrawals. Chase still charging us fees. Looking into other banking options.

New Directors:

Theater Productions/Shows/Time:

Update on Cabaret: Thespian Board is hosting Cabaret. This is an informal show usually on the stage. They can sing or dance or act, etc. Auditions are Mon/Tues next week. The show is first week of October, 7,8,9 at 7pm. This is the scholarship show where we earn money for the scholarships. Last year we charged $5/adults and

$3/students. They made about $800 including flowers/concessions, etc.

Questions arose about the program for this show. Cass thinks a student should do this as it earns points. Shelley suggested the print shop at South, but they do need to have some notice for printing. The boosters have paid for this program in the past. The colors will be red/black/white. The graphic design class makes some nice posters as well. We will be considering not ordering tickets for this show, but instead a handmade ticket.

Leah is asking for help with: tickets, making, selling, etc. publicity – suggested asking Emma for help with the publicity and then it can go to Cass and Shelley for editing. They won’t have a theme until after Sept 14 th .

Update – Alice in Wonderland: We will not have tickets for this show either. We need to check to see if we can order and pay for them via Boosters. Cass will check into this.

This was discussed at their meeting and many were interested. By Friday they will have a script. They will ask students to bring in what they have and then embellish it and possible thrift.

Help for this show:

After casting – costuming and need help with making them. Leah is asking for those who helped last year if they would help again.

Now they need help with funding. Rotary has pledged $400. She is asking for any help and Shelley will have to submit any requests via the boosters.

Ordering the play – Cass will help with this. Needs to be done before Friday. Need a service and pick the best play. It can be done on-line. It would be good to have it be an hour or so but not terribly long. It is being done at Columbus Children’s Theater in

January. There are different versions. Prom may be using the same theme.

Set design – talked about how to use the stage, etc. May think about tapping into

Otterbein to see if they have anything we could use. Jennifer Pearce could be a resource to their department. Check with Central as they had a “book” they used for Oz that might be a great way to minimize some of the set build.

Update on Drama Club : They had about 60 kids. Kim went through directions and terminology. They did an exercise to locate the sites, etc. Cass had students register on the computer. There is a great flyer with all the dates and contact information, website info. Lights and sound will be well handled by Cheyenne and John and Cass will help with Cabaret as well to brush up on this. Andy Baker is back in town and will be willing to help with this as well for Hairspray. First Tuesday of Oct the 5 th

there will be a workshop – movement on stage and voice and diction. The scene and other off stage things may not always be taught but they should always attend.

Update – Arsenic and Old Lace: Need a script that was ordered. For the stage Cass wants the stage floor painted before Cabaret. It needs three coats of paint. Kate Nole’s father owns a paint company; he may be able to help. The paint should be black/flat.

Need parents and students to help. Cass will check with Jeff about it. Shelley said that all black is difficult to get pictures and maybe another color would help. The scene shop needs to be overhauled. This will need to be all hands on deck!!! Slated to be done the day after Cabaret, Oct 10 th

starting at 1pm or so until we can get done. Bring all supplies and get it organized. One of the custodians is supplying a used, working washer and dryer. The others will come out. End of Sept will have list of must haves. Cass will send info to Shelley who can disperse as needed and cc Mrs. McGeorge. Costume shop organization – will be asking Ron Fansler to build a costume cabinet.

All the items being shipped to the school are being sent here and stored anywhere. We would like to set where they are able to store these things and only these areas. She would also like to have a utility tub – Shelley may have one to donate. May need help with costuming but not making them. They will need parent help for auditions with permission slips, information, etc. It is 4 nights, 3-5pm Sept 27-30 and one person a night. Gayle,

Lynne, Bev maybe Sue and Shelley.

Update – Hairspray: Need 4 parents both nights of musical auditions, Oct. 25 6:30-9 and Oct 26 6:30 – 9, Oct 27 hold. Jennifer Pearce - 25, Jeff Barstow - 25, Cathy Perkins -

25, Gayle - 26, Shelley - 26, Bev – 26. Kim will let us know exactly what to do each of the nights. There will be a photographer to take the kids pictures. Shelley will do Tues and Mike Henderson will be asked if he can do Monday.

Kim has a list of needs. As for the roles she will have different kids for roles. Can’t have too many people on stage, since it is only 20 feet deep. There may be almost 70-75 students involved.

Volunteer Recruitment: Taking names for the chairs for food for cast party which will be Sunday night after strike. Kim will check on the Café reservation.

Need a chair/volunteer for the rehearsal night dinners.

Lynne will chair the photos.

Flowers –

Concessions –

Honey Baked – would like only one person talking to him about it. – Maybe Rhonda Brill

Permission Form Idea:

Fundraising

Letter to Mr. Will – he needs dates.

Window cling ideas – Sue had samples. Need to decide on the colors, outlining.

Action Printing and Signs is the vendor. May check on his opinion on colors.

Need HBH fundraiser chair

Freshman Cookout Recap – Mrs. McGeorge - A different booster group has sponsored this for incoming freshman. We only had 75 students and were expecting 250.

There are student senior mentors that helped – 25 or so. Softball boosters cooked all the hotdogs. The food went well and Sue Meek is great, everything was great! Gave the hotdogs back to the Softball folks to sell. There are chips and sodas left over. This is the last year for Boosters to host it and the Senior classes will host it from here on out.

Other Business – Mrs. McGeorge also had some booster memberships. She also ordered the rights, these are about $75/performance and the scripts are about $7-10/per. The problem is that there is no guarantee that the script will be available. Hairspray was done last May. The Central musical will be March 10-13 th

now. Heritage is doing it March 10-

13 th

as well at North. South is doing All Shook Up this spring.

New PowerParent (PowerSchool) new site for homework/grades, etc. will have a bulletin site once this is all up and running. The North site has everything on the Warrior Page and the announcements. Cass has a website. Sue suggested we talk to Mr. Will about setting that up as a link. It is linked to the Boosters Facebook. Cass needs the badge to get them to the page.
