Bill of Rights Layered Book Name: Date: Per.: Government Standard 6(a-c): Explain how specific provisions of the U.S. Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, limit the powers of government in order to protect the rights of individuals with emphasis on: Freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition. Right to trial by jury and the right to counsel; Due process and equal protection of the laws. Directions: Take 6 blank 8 ½ x 11 inch pieces of paper. Lay them out on your desk. Slide the papers so that ½ an inch of each piece shows. Fold the top halves over, make sure the edges look even and put two staples in the top. You will use pages chapter 8 U.S. Constitution to find information about each amendment that make up the bill of rights.(1st 10 amendments) Titles: Each amendment will be the title of one of your pages. Each amendment will be written at the bottom of each page so that it can be seen when the book is closed. Pages: Each page will contain the rights protected by each amendment. Graphics: Each page will have a picture or symbol related to the amendment on that page. Title Page: The title page will include the following informationo The Bill of Rights o Sub-title(Catchy slogan or phrase regarding the Bill of Rights) o Graphic/Symbol of the Bill of Rights o Your name and period number Design Requirements o All lettering should be in black ink. Draw lines lightly in pencil to help you write in straight lines. Erase when done. o All graphics will be outlined in dark colored thin marker or Sharpie. o All graphics will be colored. o The background of the title page will be lightly shaded with colored pencil *Rubric on Back This will count as a project grade (25%) of quarter, so do your very best work.
