displaying kindness and concern for others. Think of a time someone did something kind for

kind to others, and see how you feel. Here are some suggestions: Loan someone a piece of paper or
a pencil that may not have one, let someone go ahead of you in the lunch line or while waiting at your
locker. Do something kind for someone without them knowing it was you!

Congratulations to the 8th grade girls basketball team on their 39-23 win last night against Gahanna
East. Scoring points for the lady Huskies were: Beverly, Bulgin, P. Miller, L. Miller, Hutcherson, and

Is your SSR the best SSR? Is your group the most creative? Does Heritage need a little

Beverly. In the end, it was not only the scoring that won the game, but also the rally the team made
with their stellar defense and ball movement that clenching the 44-32 win. Come out and support

Summer Internships
Mrs. Williams and Dr. Ebbrecht have fun information about a summer internship opportunity for 8th
grade students. This internship opportunity is with the Law and Leadership institute. Students will be
given a chance to meet attorneys and judges, complete a mock trial and also take field trips all FREE
of charge. This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in pursuing a legal career.

The OWjL Camp or the Ohio Wesleyan University Junior League of Columbus Camp, is a residential
summer camp program of challenge and enrichment for central Ohio's gifted and talented middle
school students currently in grades 6-8. It is sponsored by Ohio Wesleyan University and founded by
the Junior League of Columbus, with major support from corporations, foundations, community
service groups and individual contributions. Campers attending OWjL select four courses from an
academic program that includes logic, computing, science, humanities and creative development. For
more information about the camp, please visit the website. Applications must be received by January
31, 2016, so get your on-line application in soon.

Dodgeball tickets are on sale during lunch. The games will take place during 1st, 2nd and 5th periods
this Friday. Students will be dismissed by announcements to attend the game. One dollar gets you a
front row seat to watch the students match up against some of the finest dodgeball players in history;

Sports Report:
7th grader Iman Benlemlih won a hard fought battle of knock out last evening! Come out and
cheer on Iman the rest of the the Lady Huskies as they take on the New Albany Eagles at
5:00 in the Heritage gymnasium. Tickets are $2.00 and there will be concessions! Make
sure you save your ticket to turn in for PRIDE points, AND make sure you have a ride
arranged to pick you up at the end of the game.
Good luck to the 7th and 8th grade boys basketball teams as they travel to New

Good Morning Huskies! Today is Friday, December 18. We are on a “B” schedule

The word of the month is Caring, and today is “Forgiveness Friday!” Caring is at the heart
of an ethical person’s character. It’s a guideline for how an ethical person relates to the world
and its people. Make caring an action word, you can only truly care if you do something for
others.
A caring person is considerate, kind, compassionate and generous, and forgives. That person
always takes into account how decisions, words, and actions are going to affect other people. If
you truly want to learn to care, you must learn to forgive! Have a great day and Winter break
Huskies, use the next two weeks to continue to use your HUSKY PRIDE. Try out some of the
tips that Jay talked about yesterday in our Lunch and Learn care for yourself, others the

Summer Camp
The OWjL Camp or the Ohio Wesleyan University Junior League of Columbus Camp, is a
residential summer camp program of challenge and enrichment for central Ohio's gifted and
talented middle school students currently in grades 6-8. It is sponsored by Ohio Wesleyan
University and founded by the Junior League of Columbus, with major support from
corporations, foundations, community service groups and individual contributions. Campers
attending OWjL select four courses from an academic program that includes logic,
computing, science, humanities and creative development. Applications must be received by
January 31, 2016, so get your on-line application in soon.
Sports Report:
Congratulations to the 8th grade girls basketball team on their 57-17 win against New Albany
last night. Leading the scoring drive was: Jones, Hutcherson, Bulgin, Beverly, McClure, and
Cornley. Great defense and hustle was played by all!
