INDIVIDUAL STRATEGY TOPIC PRESENTATION You will be asked to present on a strategy or strategy-related topic of your choice. The objectives of this assignment: 1) To enlighten and inform the class on a specific topic. 2) To make the presentation engaging. 3) To time your presentation well. 1) You will need to both inform us, so select a topic that will relate well to this audience. How useful will the information be to us? Can you provide us with concrete and practical examples? How will you help us to remember the key points of your talk? 2) Since you will be giving the presentation (another of many) after everyone has likely had a full day at work, you will need to engage us. What will you do to grab our attention and then hold our attention? What tools can you use to make the presentation more dynamic, unique or interesting? Please be imaginative. If you come up with creative, even unorthodox ideas, it is then always easier to dress them down and “go conservative“ if you find your audience is not open to unconventional form of delivery, but it is nearly impossible to improvisationally jazz-up a standard, uninspiring presentation. 3) You should control the time it takes you to deliver your presentation. I am open to negotiations on the time that you need, but once we agree on the time, you need to observe that limitation. I would suggest selecting one or two areas where you can either add or cut your material, based on your remaining time, and have some one give you time cues (halfway through or 1 minute left…) Any interactive parts of your presentation, audience participation or questions are not counted in your scheduled time. 7/11/16
