September 2015 Issue 2 Jr. Jackrabbit News Things to Do at Home •Read daily to your child. •Sing as often as you can. (La, La, La,) •Count everything you can. •Look for things that are the same and for things that are different. Talk about it with your child. •Write letters and notes with your child for family members or neighbors. •Talk about school and how much fun it is…Ask what songs we are singing at school. •Go to the park and play. Stop and listen to the noises you hear. Talk about the sounds you hear and what it might be.. •Eat ice cream You are always welcome to our classroom to read a book or have lunch. Also, the observation room is open daily from 7am5pm. Thank you for your support at Curriculum Night! This Week Our theme this week is “Me and My feelings”. We will be focusing on different types of feelings and how to express ourselves in a positive manner. We will continue to work on good manners. Next Week Our theme will be “Me and My Family”. We will also begin working on environmental print. Please watch for a letter coming home about environmental print. We will be continuously working on name recognition, class routines, fine motor skills, and language skills. *September 3-Field trip to the Culinary Department at Mesa High *September 7- Labor Day, No school *September 16-Mesa High Late Start (this does not affect the preschool schedule, but may affect your drive into campus) *September 24-Fire Drill during 1st period *Check the Mesa Public Schools calendar for late start days.
