Biconditionals and Definitions
A Biconditional is a single true statement that combines a true
conditional and its true converse.
• If p, then q and if q then p are combined
A right angle is an angle whose measure is 90.
• Write the conditional part of the definition in the direction
term to characteristic.
• Write the conditional in the direction characteristic to term
• Write the definition as a biconditional.
Good definition
1. Only words either commonly understood,
defined earlier, or purposely undefined.
2. Accurately describe the idea being defined
3. Include no more information than is
necessary.
