St. Francis of Assisi - Canticle of The Sun
Most high, all-powerful, all good, Lord! All praise is yours,
all glory, all honor and all blessing.
To you alone, Most High, do they belong.
No mortal lips are worthy to pronounce your name.
All praise be yours, my Lord, through all that you have
made, And first my lord Brother Sun, Who brings the day;
and light you give to us through him.
How beautiful is he, how radiant in all his splendor!
Of you, Most High, he bears the likeness.
“…For it is in giving that we receive…”
St. Francis Of Assisi (1182 -1226)
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son…”
John 3:16
"Praised be you, my Lord, with all your creatures,
especially Sir Brother Sun, who is the day and
through whom you give us light…"
St. Francis Of Assisi (1182 -1226)
Pope John Paul II proclaimed Francis of Assisi the
patron saint of ecology in 1979, recognizing St.
Francis' reverent (holy) use of God's creation.
May we follow in the footsteps of St. Francis
by respecting the environment.
It is never too late
To start over again,
To feel again
To love again
To hope again...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is written: "God is my refuge and my strength, a very
present help in time of trouble" (Psalm 46:1).
Help us to feel that help.
Let Your presence be a light within to dispel the darkness.
Let Your nearness, Your silent speech within the heart, be
a comfort to us.
We pray
1. for the courage to carry on in the face of
disappointment,
2. for the wisdom to learn from adversity,
3. for the strength to build a new and better life.
Your spirit can transform affliction into salvation; enlighten
us, therefore, that we may look to the dawn of a new day
with confidence and trust.
May hope abide beyond the moment's loss. For You, O
God of hope, are our sustaining power, even when we
have fallen. Keep us from blaming ourselves and others
unjustly.
Give us peace of mind and contentment of spirit. Amen.
