Setting: It is the year 2095 A.D. and you own a “Time Travel” agency. You arrange trips for people back through time, to a particular age (choices listed below). You are to create a “Time-Travel Brochure” which will PERSUADE people to take a trip with you.

You are to tell them in detail who they will see, what events they will attend and what places they will visit.

Include:

*Maps – with routes, locations, etc. (color them)

**Diagrams- of dwellings, battlefields, churches, etc.

***People- include short biographies (IN YOUR OWN WORDS!)

****Important Events- political and cultural events of particular importance would be a draw for people to take your time travel trip. For example: “come see Julius Caesar as he expands his glorious empire” or “come witness the empowering and divine work of St.

Francis of Assisi” or “come expand your mind and sit in on one of the discussions of the greatest philosophers the world has ever seen.”

*****Pictures are very important when making an attractive travel brochure.

******If you would like to enhance your mark and make your project exceptional (B+, A-,

A, A+), you may include outside research. For example you may tell me about how the church affected the everyday life of the people or take an in depth look into Socrates philosophies. Any information you research outside of your textbook and our classroom work, put in a different color, bold, italicize or underline the words. The choice is yours.

Be creative!

 You must have at least two pages of

Times New Roman 12 font double spaced information in your own words. If any of this information is from the internet or quoted from the textbook it MUST BE CITED. Check my website or the handout given in class about how to properly cite material. Changing one adjective does not make a sentence from the textbook or internet different and not in need of citations. Receiving an honor code violation for the project results in a grade of zero, which means you are probably going to fail the quarter. In other words – It’s not worth it!

 You must convince people to take this trip – Be persuasive!

 Make the brochure COLORFUL, DESCRIPTIVE, and GIVE GOOD

INFORMATION.

 Thoroughly cover the important people, places and events of the era.

You will be marked on:

 Thoroughness of information

 Appearance (does it look like a travel brochure)

 Creativity (do not shy away from humor. It is encouraged where appropriate.)

 Persuasiveness (Make sure you sell me on your trip)

 Organization/Layout of your information.

 Sentence structure, grammar, typos – these are indicators of how much time you put into your work.

 Proper citations. See information listed above on how to properly cite.
