ELEMENTAL SUPERHEROES
As you have noticed there are several trends that
exist in the periodic table of elements. These trends
must be discussed and learned but frankly listening to
me discuss them would most likely bore me to death. So I
have decided to give you this awesome responsibility.
You and your group-mates will be assigned a group on
the periodic table and will present its characteristics
to the class. You must include information on
Appearance of element in native state, Uses of element,
valence electron numbers, reactivity, tendency to
gain/lose electrons, phase of group members,
classification and electron configuration. Now as this
could be boring to research and present you must take
each group and create a team of superheroes (i.e. x-men,
fantastic four) with each team member representing
one element from your group. The character must
demonstrate the physical characteristics of his/her
element and their powers must be based on your
elements properties. Each individual must submit short
bio on his/her superhero (250-500 words) and present
their hero in class in a thematic presentation. This
