Apostle: the 12 chosen by Jesus by name and is “one who is sent forth”
Disciple: A pupil and follower of Jesus
Patron: Saints are chosen as special intercessors or protectors for our lives.
Francis: This Saint is credited with saying, “Preach the Gospel always and, if necessary, use words.”
Conscience: Must be informed and followed
Steward: One who carefully and responsibly manages something that has been entrusted.
Calumny: Spreading lies about another person
Detraction: This sin reveals the faults of someone without good reason
Justice: This virtue teaches us to respect the rights of others.
Chastity: This virtue helps us integrate sexuality with all aspects of who we are
Idolatry: Worshipping something other than the true God, like money
Ten Commandments: Are found in the book of Exodus in the Old Testament, Moses
Message: 1-3 Love of God, 4-10 love your neighbor
The Beatitudes: Are found in Matthew and Luke’s Gospel’s in the New Testament, Jesus
Message: humble, compassionate, peacemakers
Family: Also called the Domestic Church.
Evangelist: Someone who shares the Good News with others. (The Resurrection of Jesus
Matthew: Jewish evangelist author converting Jews to Christianity
Luke: Gentile evangelist author converting gentiles to Christianity
Peter: Jesus named this Apostle “rock.” Andrew’s brother and fisherman; denied JC 3X
Andrew: one of the first disciples, Peter’s brother and fisherman
Thomas: Apostle who “doubted” that Jesus had risen from the dead until he saw him.
Judas Iscariot: Betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver;
James and John brothers & fishermen. John: the beloved disciple Apostle at the cross with Marys
