Parent Conferences
Thanks to all of the families that took the time to make it to
parent conferences. Our teachers work very hard to make sure
that students are getting the best education we can offer.
Often that first conference helps families recognize hard work,
identify goals for the future and build good habits for
homework completion, organization and communication. All of
our staff has both email and voicemail to help answer
questions you might have.
Student Council Skateland Night 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Edison’s Student Council will host their first event this month
for our students and their families. We encourage students
and families to come dressed up for the event if they want, but
it is not required to attend. Come join us for food, fun, games
and of course, skating. Look for details to come home, but
plan to join us for our first fundraiser.

at school. Thanks in advance.
Student of the Month
Students that have been nominated by Edison staff should
have been given a letter to bring home to announce their time
for the awards ceremony. We have 3 sessions to
accommodate our family members and the number of students
receiving recognition. The times are listed in the calendar
section. We ask that you plan to attend if available.

PTO Sponsors Red Ribbon Week Oct 21-25
Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the
country. The purpose is to help students recognize the dangers of drug use in
our community and avoid becoming drug free. It is our commitment to drug
prevention and education with a goal of drug free lives. The recognition
commemorates the loss of DEA agent Enrique Camarena.
Our students see the results of drug use in our community and in the lives of
others. Most recently, Cory Monteith from “Glee” died from drug use. Our kids
know the stories and it is important that they recognize that nay use can be
dangerous.
Our thanks go out in advance to our PTO sponsors and volunteers for their work
to help us commemorate this event.
PTO Meeting- Thanks to all that came to support out PTO. They are working
hard on Carnival preparations and plans for our Edison Carnival on November
15th. Join us for food and fun and help our PTO raise funds for all our activities
this year. It will feature a chance to dunk our Principal and who doesn’t want to
do that?
COX Communications- MPS Program
Cox Communications and Connect2Compete are teaming up to help families get
affordable Internet access. Mesa Public Schools is partnering with them to get
the word out. Families should have received information about the program in
the form of an introductory letter in English and Spanish, an informational flier in
English and Spanish and there are posters up in the office with more details.
This program has asked us to direct parent inquiries to use the contact
information in the letter and on the fliers.
Connect2Compete.org/Cox or call 1-855-222-3252 for company information
on the program.
