These courses helped me to understand how international events affect individuals and businesses. I also learned to analyse and compile information in a way that communicates a clear message. My previous experience in international work is an advantage because I understand how social and cultural values influence and affect the economic and political fabric of a society. ADD IT IO NA L EDU CA TI O N Drawing course 2006-08-01 — 2006-12-01 Arte Ilimitiada, Lisbon, Portugal I took art lessons in Portuguese and received a solid understanding of cultural values in Portugal. I also learned to see design from multiple perspectives, which is an asset to my political studies because I can apply different perspectives to various concepts. Portuguese course 2005-01-01 — 2006-02-01 CIAL Centro de Linguas, Lisbon, Portugal During my studies at Lisbon I communicated daily in Portuguese and learned to use the language practically and fluently. French course 2004-02-01 — 2004-05-01 Alliance Française Paris Ile-de-France I took a three-month long language course in Paris in order to develop my basic French skills. Media programme with a concentration in journalism 1999-08-01 — 2002-06-01 Sundsgymansiet, Vellinge, Sweden During my studies I developed my ability to write texts and critically analyse information. I did an internship at the Swedish National Defence College’s communications department where I had an active role analysing and summarising texts and press releases. WO RK E X PE RI ENC E Sales manager 2008-06-01 — 2008-12-01 Pink Ribbon Golf, Lisbon, Portugal As a sales manager in Portugal I developed a close cooperation with Laço (www.laco.pt) because Pink Ribbon Golf was their official sponsor. I had to use a lot of initiative and creativity in order to get customers to realise the market potential to support Laço. I worked administratively with annual reports, budgets and customer lists. In addition I organized various events such as golf tournaments. My work demanded that I work in a flexible, engaged, outgoing and trustworthy manner. Working languages: Portuguese, English Receptionist 2007-08-01 — 2008-08-01 Oitavos Dunes Golf, Cascais, Portugal I learned to cope with stress and problems by using humour and patience. I did my job well, which resulted in an increased area of responsibility handling relations with Scandinavian customers. We held an annual European Golf Tour and I learned the importance of good organisation and how to work with a large number of people under stress. I became adept at anticipating the needs of patients, which in turn developed my ability to perceive what was required of me. Working languages: Swedish VO LUN TE ER WO R K Volunteer 2007-08-01 — 2008-12-01 National Breast Cancer Organisation, Laço, Portugal My work with the National Breast Cancer Organisation was extremely informative and I personally developed a lot. I communicated a message in an informative and entertaining way. I also engaged with people and got them to understand my message about how important it is to be aware of the risks for breast cancer.
