I have a dream… “Many Faces, One Community” For Martin Luther King Jr. Day Martin Luther King Jr. was born January 15, 1929. He dedicated himself by being an American clergyman, activist, humanitarian, and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He is a national icon in the history of American progressivism. Martin Luther King spoke up for rights and freedom. MLK Jr. inspired me in so many ways. He taught me to be fair and not to be judgmental as most people in the universe are. Some famous quotes from his “I have a dream” speech inspired millions as myself… “We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back.” –Martin Luther King Jr. To me the inspiration came from “we must pledge” to become a group of people that stand their silence together. Over 250,000 people that day, August 28, 1963, thought more and more on racism. Peace and the World (U.S.A) Martin Luther King Jr. Day Dr. King brought people together. Dr. King brought the world together in so many ways. He’s famous speeches, meetings, boycotts, teaching, and listening to the things around him happen. I would say that Dr. King made peace by standing together and explaining simple things to people. Dr. King soon let me decide to help out in my community and at school. I never bully through out school, in my neighborhood, or in my home. I love to make donations to foster homes, churches, and after school sports/ activities. Lastly, playing my role takes a huge chunk out of my day, but I still do it anyways. Sometimes I go to my neighbor’s houses and take care of there children if they go out (they don’t even pay me). If Dr. King has showed the world something then he’s showed friendship and love. Thank you for following Dr. King’s footsteps!
