Dear Poston Parents and Guardians,
Attached please find the information and forms needed to complete the 7th grade
registration process at Poston Junior High School for the 2015-2016 school year.
You may bring this packet with you to our (optional) Parent Registration
Information Meeting on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the
Poston Auditorium. Counselors will provide information and answer questions
regarding 7th grade course requirements and Poston programs. The presentation
will be followed by self-guided tours of the campus. Our teachers will be in their
classrooms to meet you and answer questions about their programs. We will also
have student musical performances throughout the evening and refreshments will
be served.
After you have completed the attached Registration Form (and A-Hour page, if
applicable), please return this form(s) to your child’s 6th grade teacher on or before
Friday, February 6, 2015.











Fill in your choices for 7th Grade on this worksheet.
Students will register for 6 courses a semester (7 courses if Ahour)
Yearlong courses are listed twice (i.e. ELA071 & ELA072)
All 7th graders are required to enroll in PE and Computer Essentials
All students will be placed in 7th grade level Math, English,
Social Studies, and Science.
Placement in G&T (Gifted/Talented) English & Social Studies
and/or G&T Science & Math will be based on the required CogAt
test and school records.
Select electives only from the courses listed on this form.
Students may be placed in alternative courses.
Choose courses wisely, cannot accommodate change of mind.
