Dear Poston Parents and Guardians,
Attached please find the information and forms needed to complete the 8th grade
registration process at Poston Junior High School for the 2015-2016 school year.
We would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to our “Second Semester
Showcase and Registration Evening” on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. From 6:30 to
8:00 p.m. you may meet your child’s current teachers, tour our elective areas and
visit Poston program showcases. Counselors will be available in the Media Center
from 7:00-8:00 to answer any specific questions you may have. We will also have
student musical performances throughout the evening and refreshments will be
served.
Once the attached Registration Form (and A-Hour page, if applicable) is complete,
students should return it to their Social Studies teacher on or before Friday,
February 6, 2015.
Please call the Poston Counseling Office at the numbers below if you have any
registration questions. We look forward to working with you as we register your
child for next school year.

Fill in your choices for 8th Grade on this worksheet.
Students will register for 6 courses a semester (7 courses if Ahour)
Yearlong courses are listed twice(i.e. ELA081 and ELA082)
All students must take ONE semester of physical education (PE).
Students who are CURRENTLY placed in 7th grade
Gifted/Talented (G&T) will be placed in 8th grade G&T courses.
Students not currently in G&T may request G&T testing.
Select electives only from the courses listed on this form.
Students may be placed in alternative courses.
