Purpose: The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Standards and Training Commission has mandated changes in the Crossover: Corrections to Law Enforcement Program for the State of
Florida; Catalog Course Description: The student will learn criminal justice values and ethics, and a variety of legal issues that are applicable to law enforcement: probable cause, search and seizure, lawful arrests, interrogation of suspects, elements of arrests, rules of evidence, use of force, criminal liability, and civil liability. Purpose: The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice Standards and Training
Commission, has established the Correctional Officer Cross-Over Training to Law Enforcement
Basic Recruit Training Program. The purpose of this program is to provide lateral movement of
Florida officers between criminal justice disciplines. Within this program, selected sections of the Florida CMS Law Enforcement Basic Recruit Training Program have been modified to fit the needs of Correctional officers wanting to become certified Florida Law Enforcement Officers.
The Florida CMS Law Enforcement Basic Recruit Training Program is published in two volumes:
1) Florida Basic Recruit Training Program Law Enforcement, and 2) Florida Basic Recruit Training
Program High Liability Lessons. Successful completion of this program allows a correctional student to become certified as a state of Florida law enforcement officer; Effective Date:

0809-167 Restaurant and Food Service Management, A.S. Degree, CPM ................ Jim Inglis
Purpose: To align recent changes in courses (credit hours) with overall program requirements.
The changes effect the total program hours, necessitating the modification after the Catalog deadline; Effective Date: Fall 2009 (201010).
This proposal was approved as submitted.

Information Items
Radiography Course Lab Designation – An “L” will be placed after the course number for the
Radiography Program course RTE 2854, for consistency with other college and program lab courses.
Field Review Changes – Final revisions worked out by the FDLE and SCNS led to two additional changes in the Criminal Justice Institute program courses, as follows:
CJK 0272 Criminal Justice Communications will become CJK 0286
CJK 0271 Criminal Justice Legal II will become CJK 0285
The changes are effective August 1, 2009.
The next meeting of the College Curriculum Committee is scheduled for September 9, 2009, and will be held on the West Campus, Room 6-202. Deadline for submission of materials for the
September agenda is August 26, 2009.
