Release of Liability Waiver for
SAGE Fundraising Opportunities Form
I, ________________________________, am choosing to engage in fundraising efforts to help subsidize
student participation in a Study-Abroad Program to ________________. I understand that these fundraising
opportunities are not mandatory and are totally voluntary; these are not required by any entity of Valencia College
to be a part of a Study Abroad Program, nor to solidify consideration in the program. While these opportunities
may be relayed to me by my SAP professor(s), I acknowledge that these are not a part of Valencia College
activities and are unrelated to my enrollment at Valencia. I understand that Valencia has not vetted, screened,
or evaluated the opportunities, the individuals involved, or the locations at which the opportunities may take
place. I understand that I am performing all work as a private citizen, as not as an employee or agent of Valencia
College, and I assume full personal responsibility for my work and actions. I understand that I am assuming all
risks that may be inherent in these opportunities and that Valencia College is not in any way responsible for my
safety, security, or well-being while doing so. In the event of any injury, including injury to others or to myself
(including death) or property damage, I will not hold Valencia College, nor any of its trustees, representatives,
agents, or employees responsible. I, for myself, my heirs, representatives and assigns, do hereby release and
forever discharge Valencia College, and all of its trustees, employees, agents, and representatives from any and
all claims, demands, damages, actions, and/or causes of actions or suits of any kind or nature whatsoever, which
may occur during any of the activities described in or contemplated by this release, including those resulting from
Valencia’s negligence.
I acknowledge that all monies raised will be held in a Fund 06 account that has been established for
fundraising efforts for the Study-Abroad and understand that these funds will be used for the benefit of
students that are participants in the program. If I do not follow through with traveling, the funds will be used to
benefit those that remain in the program and I relinquish all rights to receive these funds.
I knowingly assume any and all risks for any possible personal injury or property damages that may occur
during fundraising events and/or activities, either to me or others.

Please collect payments by check made out to Valencia College. Be sure to get a receipt from the
Business Office of your deposit. Write your name and program country on the receipt and email
to studyabroad@valenciacollege.edu. This will serve as back-up documentation to ensure that
we have accounted for all deposits. Deposits will be accepted up to four (4) weeks prior to
departure.
This account is solely for the purpose of maintaining proceeds for fundraising efforts. This is not for student
payments for the tuition/program fees for the study abroad program itself. Those are to be made through the
SAGE account. Include this slip with any payments made to the Business Office for proceeds from fundraising
events. They will return with receipt attached; save for your records. **Failure to include your Valencia
ID number will result in loss of credit to the student’s fundraising record.

SAGE Study Abroad Race Donation Form
The Study Abroad and Global Experiences office at Valencia College is offering the study abroad students an
opportunity to raise funds for their study abroad experience. This form will be used by the study abroad student
OR Valencia faculty/staff member who participates in any type of SAGE-approved footrace (see website for list)
to track all race sponsors that they recruit. Funds raised by faculty or staff members can be awarded to a specific
program or all study abroad students. Donations may be given per mile or as a flat donation payable by check
to Valencia College.
