Addendum #1 RFQ #06-15 Machining Equipment January 14, 2015 If any person contemplating submitting a proposal for the proposed contract is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the specifications, or other proposed contract documents, or finds discrepancies in, or omissions from the specifications, they are instructed to contact Kim Simonds, Buyer, at (760) 795-6755, to request an interpretation or correction thereof. The District may require that such request be in writing, in which case the person submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery. Any interpretation or correction of the proposed documents will be made by Addendum duly issued by the Buyer, and a copy of such Addendum will be mailed or delivered to each person receiving a set of such documents. The District will not be responsible for any other explanation or interpretation of the proposed documents. 1. Clarification – Bid Bond Amount and Performance Bond Amount BID BOND: A Bid Bond is required of Bidders in the amount of 10% of the Bidder’s Total Amount of the Bid as reflected on the Bidder’s Bid Sheets. PERFORMANCE BOND: A Performance Bond in the amount of no less than One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Contract Amount as stated in the Agreement between the District and the Contractor. 2. Clarification – Bid Sheets Due to typographical errors in the Specifications Description as noted in the questions below, please use the attached corrected Specifications Sheets in your bid Submission. 3. Extension – Bid Due Date and Time To allow for the updated Descriptions to be addressed the new bid due date and time is as follows: Friday, January 23, 2015 4. Questions a. Page 22, Item 2 'Doorway and Corner Sizes for CNC Machines'. According to the "New Work Floor Plan" [drawing file A04-113845-008], the only two access doors into Room #47 where the CNC machines will be located are 6' wide. Can you confirm this? If so, even the CNC mill specifications (Reference Page 20, Item 2) has an minimum dimension of 82" so that would not fit through these entrances. Answer: The following is the clarification of the path to the classroom for this equipment: “The path to the machinist classroom is mixed. But from the hallway into each of the classroom the pair doors only measure 72 inches hard to the jambs, possibly less depending on the position of the door. Both doorways are 8' to the header. To get the machine in the building it must enter through the shipping door where Damon has his desk, then turn left through the 8' wide double doors into the corridor it must navigate the right turn at the staff restroom, turn left into machinist classroom. Entry into machinist classroom 2 is a jog left around the corner column, through the cased opening in classroom 1.” Page 1 of 2 b. Page 20, It appears there are two Line Item #2. What is the very last line item, noted as "CNC Lathe as specified below: Mill and lathe simulation, LCD display, USB port" Is this a separate line item? Is this for a machine control simulator?
