Group A (or group 1)
Hello! We are currently freshmen at Stanford University. Our group consists of: Jordan from Connecticut
(19 years old), Dahlia from California (18), Jesse from California (17), Thomas from North Carolina (18).
We all have different majors, and this class is one of our freshman requirements. This class is called the
Rhetoric of truthiness, and we talk about fake news and parodies. Jesse, Dahlia, and Jordan are
interested in studying Biology and are on the pre-med track. Thomas is still undecided. Thomas is also
on the swim team and is part of a fraternity, Sigma Chi. Jesse is in an A-cappella group, named Fleet
Street, and is also doing some biological research. Jordan volunteers with children with disabilities, and
is a part of a sorority, Tri-Delta. Dahlia is a volunteer teacher at a Middle School nearby. We all live on
campus, in the dorms. The weather is sometimes unpredictable but the sun always manages to make it
through. We are all excited to meet you, and are looking forward to having a very fruitful discourse.
