Dennye Ehrnwald Memorial Scholarship
Dennye Ehrnwald was a Farm Business/Marketing Educator with University of Illinois Extension,
Champaign, County. He was also an attorney and certified financial planner.
The Champaign County Extension Education Foundation of Champaign County, Illinois, will award a
$1000 scholarship to a resident of Champaign County. This memorial scholarship is funded by a major gift from the family of Dennye Ehrnwald and contributions from the Gifford State Bank and individuals.
The Champaign County Extension Education Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation established in
1983 to promote the educational objectives of University of Illinois Extension, Champaign County. To enhance our educational goals, we have established this scholarship to assist individuals in achieving their own educational objectives. We believe education enriches not only the individual’s quality of life, but also enhances the quality of life within our communities.
The scholarship may be awarded to an adult or youth meeting the following requirements and criteria.
Youth Requirements:
1.
Resident of Champaign County.
2.
Senior in High School with acceptance at a Community College or four year University.
3.
Is a member of an organization/church/school providing community service.
4.
Educational goals with emphasis in agriculture, finances, or economics.
Adult Requirements:
1.
Resident of Champaign County.
2.
Applicant has had a minimum of a 3-year break in formal education.
3.
Presently employed and working towards an educational objective
4.
Is a member of an organization/church providing community service.
5.
Is pursuing a professional certification, continuing education for credit or college-technical education.
Application Criteria:
1.
Statement of your educational and career goals.
2.
Statement of community service activities
3.
Statement of financial need.
4.
Statement of involvement in Champaign County Extension programming.
5.
Two letters of recommendation.
