I have sent this to the Alton Telegraph. It needs to be sent to the weekly papers.
BRIGHTON FARMHANDS 4-H MEMBER TAKES GRAND CHAMPION RABBIT TITLE
As the judge took one last look at her rabbits, Emily Wolff was both excited and
nervous. At eleven years of age she had only been showing three years and this was
a big moment for her at the 2010 Illinois State Fair. However, Emily’s well cared for
New Zealand rabbits were just what the judge was looking for!
“It’s really a family thing,” stated eleven year old Emily, the oldest of three. Emily
made it very apparent that her family was always there to support her interests in
rabbits and the 4-H. This young 4-H member certainly has big goals; she stated that
she planned to improve her rabbit facilities with the Governor’s Sale of Champions
prize money.
As a member of the Brighton Farmhands 4-H Club in Brighton, IL Emily is also active
with other 4-H projects such as showing her shorthorn cattle and sewing. She says
that her favorite part of raising rabbits is holding them. It is sure to be a busy week
for the Wolff family at the Illinois State Fair, congratulations!
Emily Wolff of Brighton proudly shows off her Grand Champion Awards at the
Illinois State Fair. Emily is a Macoupin County 4-H member and the grand champion
trio will be sold at the Sale of Champions on August 17. Judging the show was Tex
Thomas of Missouri.
