Rhetorical Analysis Conduct a rhetorical analysis of the following picture. Any possible motives, what ethos does it create and how? 3-Who is the audience/target audience (demographics & psyche) and how does speaker appeal to them? 4-Evaluate argument based on emotional appeals –pathos 5-Evaluate argument based on credibility/character of speaker-look for evidence on credibility. How does speaker establish credibility? Personal experience, knowledge, expertise 6-Evaluate argument based on facts and reasoning-what evidence is used, what are sources, etc.-logos 7-Examine the arrangement and style of argument Any particular order or structure Language use, picture painted, tone, straight forward or manipulating 8-What context surrounds the argument-social, political, historical, cultural etc.
