Creative Writing-Thinking About America
Valerie Vogrin
Creative writers embrace the colloquium’s broad vision by reading original poems, short
fictions, and micro-essays that in some way represent the concept “thinking about
America.” Works presented – some of which will be written for the occasion of the
colloquium – will range widely in subject matter, including a story set in a future version
of the U.S. and a fictional meditation on new tires, flat tires, and Interstate 55.
Presenters: Allison Funk, Adrian Matejka, Jeffrey Skoblow, Daniel Boyt, Geoff Schmidt,
Megan Hudgins, Nicola Schmidt, Valerie Vogrin, John Savoie, David Rawson, and
Ashley Luster.
