Measure: Increase number of students involved in study abroad/exchange programs by a minimum of 2% by 2013 Measure: Increase number of projects in which HHP faculty interface with international scholars/students in unit and on campus by a minimum of 2% by 2013 Outcome Objective: Leverage our global profile to extend partnerships with international universities. Measure: Implement formal program with at least one international university by 2013 Outcome Objective: Empower our future leaders to succeed by offering experiences that enlighten and nurture an understanding of diverse cultures. Measure: Students enrolled in HHP courses will increase volunteer and service learning involving diverse cultures by ten percent by 2013 Measure: One hundred percent of HHP undergraduate degree programs will include at least one diversity designated course by 2013 Measure: One hundred percent of graduate teaching assistants will complete cultural competence training by 2013 Measure: The HHP Diversity Climate Survey results will be used to identify specific areas for enhancement in instructor training and course content by AY 2012-2013 Outcome Objective: Excel in the development and implementation of holistic approaches to learning that advance the cultural competence of our students. Measure: HHP faculty work collaboratively with Campus Recreation and Wellness, Disability Support Services, Student Affairs, and community resources to expand the ECU Adapted Recreation and Wellness Day to incorporate campus-wide understanding of persons with varying abilities through hands-on training and engagement by 2013 Outcome Objective: Increase research, scholarship, and funding opportunities available to undergraduate and graduate students. Measure: Work collaboratively with the Graduate School to increase Master's stipends to levels commensurate with competing institutions Outcome Objective: Substantially increase support for research and graduate programs that are tied to UNC-GA's and ECU's highest priorities, among them STEM. Measure: Continue to work collaboratively with IPAR and other space-related entities to secure appropriate laboratory space for nexus of faculty investigating diabetes and obesity related disease prevention Outcome Objective: Sustain our commitment to attracting and retaining excellent faculty, staff, administration, and students. Measure: Increase efforts to attract and retain underrepresented populations via the implementation and ongoing assessment of the HHP diversity action plan Goal 2: The Leadership University Outcome Objective: Define and develop opportunities to enhance the discovery and practice of leadership. Measure: HHP faculty and administrators will develop an HHP Undergraduate Program Inventory of Leadership Development Practices by fall 2011 Measure: Increase documented evidence of student leadership activities by 2013 Measure: Increase student involvement in advocacy leadership efforts related to their disciplines and healthy living (e.g., service learning projects, professional organization involvement, legislator engagement, community interaction, etc.) by a minimum of 10% by 2013 Measure: HHP faculty and administrators will identify opportunities to develop and implement leadership focus separate courses by 2013 Outcome Objective: Develop programs to promote the well-being of self and others. Measure: Develop at least one formal activity and healthy lifestyle collaborative program with Student Affairs (Campus Recreation and Wellness, WLLC, Student Union, or others) by 2013 Goal 3: Health, Health Care, and Medical Innovation Outcome Objective: Increase external funding for health related research. Measure: Seek to increase external financial support of HHP research labs (e.g., activity promotion lab, biofeedback lab, environmental health lab, etc.) related to health by a minimum of 10% by 2013 Outcome Objective: Address health issues that face the region by increasing translational research projects that address established priorities. Measure: Continue to evaluate and document HHP's role in an ECU School of Public Health and develop a plan to be appropriately involved in public health-related research Outcome Objective: Remain responsive to a changing health environment by providing an innovative educational experience for future health providers. Measure: Continue to evaluate and document HHP's role in School of Public Health and develop a plan to be appropriately involved in public health-related educational experiences Outcome Objective: Expand graduate and post graduate educational programs in health and health care.
