Measure: The Leadership & Professional Development Portfolio for undergraduate students will be completely implemented by 2012. Surveyed graduating seniors, alumni, and the business community will indicate a positive perception of the portfolio (>60% positive responses) Measure: The COB will increase the availability of internships for students by 10% over the next five years Measure: Student surveys will reveal 75%+ overall satisfaction with the "Network" Goal 2: Outreach Outcome Objective: The COB will engage in economic outreach, development, and education for eastern North Carolina and the state. Measure: The COB will increase the overall number of attendees at outreach related activities by 10% over the next 5 years Measure: The COB will increase the overall number of faculty participating in outreach related activities by 10% over the next 5 years Measure: Greater than 75% of surveyed participants will indicate positive experiences with COB outreach activities Goal 3: Scholarship Outcome Objective: The COB will encourage and support faculty making intellectual contributions in the form of pedagogical and discipline based scholarship. Measure: The COB will increase the average number of articles published by faculty by 5% over a 5 year period Measure: The COB will increase by 5% the number of journal articles published each year in A and B level journals as defined by the college AQ/PQ policy over the next 5 years College of Business Strategic Actin Plan 10/24/11 3|P a g e Institutional Planning, Assessment & Research Goal 4: 21st Century Business Education Outcome Objective: The COB will provide a high quality, flexible business education distinguished by high value and high student contact that prepares students for careers in the 21st century. Measure: In even academic years the undergraduate program will participate in an external exit assessment program. The goal is that the COB will be equal to or better than identified peers Measure: In odd academic years the graduate programs will participate in an external exit or other assessment program. The goal is that the COB will be equal to or better than identified peers Measure: EBI results as well as exit surveys will indicate overall positive experiences with the Center for Student Success (Advising, Career, & Communication) Measure: Assessment Committees will evaluate and review at least two COB learning objectives for each program each academic year Measure: COB retention rates will exceed that of the university College of Business Strategic Actin Plan 10/24/11 4|P a g e
