Greek Awards Application
The awards will recognize chapters and individual accomplishments between the
dates of January 1, 2014 – December 31, 2014. All materials and applications must
reflect this time period. This packet is due electronically to Karen Clegg at
cleggk@ecu.edu no later than 5:00 p.m on Friday, January 23, 2015. Late packets
will not be considered!

Chapter Awards: Awards will be given in this category to recognize chapters
for excellence in programming, projects, or achievements that foster the principles
of Greek Life. One recipient will be chosen from each council (if applicable).
Documentation is required for these awards and should be attached to each
individual packet. This category consists of the following chapter awards:

Outstanding Academic Development Program of the Year
Outstanding Community Service Project of the Year
Outstanding Philanthropy Project of the Year
Outstanding Educational Programming Award
Collaborative Program of the Year
Highest Grade Point Average (combined average of spring 2014 and fall
2014) No application necessary.
Chapter of the Year: Based on documented Greek Life achievements overall
strength of Greek Awards Application and included essay.
Individual Recognition: One recipient will be chosen from each council (if
applicable).






Alumni Greek Hall of Fame
Undergraduate Greek Hall of Fame
We encourage you to apply for as many awards as your chapter would like and believe
you deserve recognition for during the 2014 year, but please limit your submission to
one program per category. Please fill out the cover page for each application that you
choose to submit and attach to your application essay and documentation. Awards will
not be considered without documentation. You will then save each application as a
separate document and submit each as an individual attachment.

Outstanding Collaborative Program Award
It is recommended that two organizations submit this packet together, but chapters who
submit on their own will be eligible to win this award as a single organization.

This award is given to the chapters that conducted the best collaborative program that
was organized by chapter members from both organizations involved. The program must
be between two Greek organizations and not one Greek organization and another campus
group.

This will be awarded to a sorority/fraternity advisor who has consistently dedicated time

Greek Man/Woman of the Year
One outstanding man and one outstanding woman shall be named Greek Man of the Year
and Greek Woman of the Year.
This is not one per council but one each for all of Greek Life.
This award is done by nomination. To nominate an outstanding individual from your

Undergraduate Greek Hall of Fame
The ECU Greek Hall of Fame Award was established to honor students who have
exhibited exceptional merit and achievement, and has significantly benefited the Greek
Community at East Carolina University. Students must have a cumulative 3.0 and
significant leadership experience.
1. Awards will be based upon demonstrated exceptional accomplishment in any of the
following ways:
 Excelling through leadership, influence, and initiative
 Significant impact on your organization
 Outstanding extracurricular activities
2. Contribution to community by:
 Fostering healthy communities through such things as public service, mentoring,
inspiring, and protecting those less fortunate
 Helping advance East Carolina University Greek Life

The ECU Greek Alumni Hall of Fame Award was established to honor former students
