ITHACA COLLEGE SCIENCE RESEARCH FUND
FACULTY PROJECT APPLICATION
The Science Research Fund is an endowment at Ithaca College to support research in the natural sciences. In
addition to funding summer research students, we support faculty research in Biology, Chemistry,
Environmental Studies and Sciences, and Physics and Astronomy.
This form is for faculty wishing to request funds for a specific research project.






All natural science faculty members are eligible to apply.
Funds may be used for any legitimate research expense (e.g. supplies, equipment, rental equipment
fees, and travel to perform research). Conference travel is not eligible.
The intent of this fund is to facilitate projects that are difficult to fund from other internal and external
sources. Typical award sizes are $800-$3,000 per faculty per round. Proposals under $800 will not be
accepted; faculty should submit such requests to the Provost Office’s Academic Research Program.
The deadlines are September 19 and April 3. Unless pre-arranged, late applications will not be
considered.
Proposals should be submitted via email to your department chair.
Proposals are reviewed by a committee composed of the Chairs of the four natural science departments.

many undergraduate students will be involved and in what capacity (i.e., how many credits per student, etc.), the
intended final product, your dissemination or presentation plans. Limit your answer to the space provided.
